A tragic road accident in Delhi claimed the life of a senior Finance Ministry official on Saturday evening, leaving three others injured.
The Incident
The accident took place near Dhaula Kuan, one of the busiest stretches in the capital. Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, Navjot Singh, was returning home with his wife after visiting Bangla Sahib Gurudwara. The couple was traveling on a motorcycle when a speeding BMW car allegedly rammed into them.
Following the collision, the motorcycle lost balance and hit a bus moving on the left side of the road. The impact proved fatal for Singh, while his wife sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a city hospital.
Injuries and Custody
The BMW was being driven by a woman, accompanied by her husband. Both sustained injuries during the crash. The woman driver, after initial treatment, has been discharged and taken into police custody for questioning.

According to Delhi Police, a case has been registered under relevant sections of the law, including those pertaining to rash and negligent driving. Investigations are underway to determine whether overspeeding, reckless driving, or other factors led to the tragedy.
